The Lifelong Learner

The lessons start at home. You learn from your parents, siblings, and surroundings.  Summer is coming to an end and my children are back in school hitting the books.  Great leaders are always looking to learn more and go to that next level. Life will present you with opportunities to continue your education. You can go to college, fall in love, or start a business.  You will be able to use your experience to enrich the lives of everyone around you.  Commit today to a lifetime of learning, loving, and growing.

Let Your Life Bloom

flowers bloomingSpring is here! The weather is warmer, the birds are chirping, and the grass is growing again. Nature flows with grace from one season to the next. Your life should be the same way, however we are taught to fight on no matter the cost.  The key to letting your life flow is surrender. Your ego would like you to think that surrender equals defeat or laziness. The ability to surrender to what is going on in your life gives you power.  You get clarity and  a chance for God’s love to  embrace your situation. After all your fighting, do still have to deal with the same issue?  If so, let the power of surrender take root and let your life bloom.

images (3)I was blessed to take my family to Georgia for a surprise party for my Grammy. She turned 75, we  talk back and forth on e-mail, and she is a woman of God. I do not know where I would be without her. It was so cool to see my family work  together and show my Grammy so much love. This time of year is for family, good food, being of service , and fun!  My simple tips for this holiday season, be thankful for all that you have and help someone who has less than you.

Life Is A Divine Dance!

God has blessed us to be apart of this wonderful dance called life. We are all connected and dance together. The beat  maybe slow or fast. The mood could be happy, sad, or angry. You will have to learn new steps along the way but you must keep dancing. We thank God for each step we take and every new dance we learn. All things have a flow, you have to find yourdancing beach 2 flow in the dance of life and let your soul groove all day and all night.

Your Independence Day

On July 4, 1776, America declared its i225px-Fourth_of_July_fireworks_behind_the_Washington_Monument,_1986ndependence from Great Britain. We celebrate this day with fireworks, parades, and various other public and private events. When are you going to declare your independence? We all deserve freedom from fear, self-doubt, and negative habits. Commit to being your true self. Take back your freedom, dance, laugh, and display your god given fireworks to the world!

Where Is Your Focus?

Red CamaroWhat you focus on grows. Simple but true. If you purchase a new car, you will begin to see that car everywhere you go. The following tips will help you take your focus to the next level.

  1. Having a clear vision and setting goals. I have written about the importance of  your vision and goals in the past.(see previous posts) Setting S.M.A.R.T. goals is key. Write down your goals, review them often, and it will keep you from getting  distracted.
  2. Solitude.  You need to block off some time to clear your mind.  You can listen to music, meditate, or relax in nature. This will give you time to slow down from the hectic pace and demands of your life.  I have used solitude to stay focused and take my productivity to a higher level.
  3. Work with your team. Talk to your family, close friends or life coach. They can be accountability partners and remind you when your behavior is not consistent with your goals.

We can always choose to perceive things differently. You can focus on what’s wrong in your life, or you can focus on what’s right.

Find Your Inner Child

My children are amazing!  They continue to be a reminder  that I am blessed to be apart of their wonderful and precious journey. Yes! They can be challenging  and that is a subject for another blog. Children  live life to the fullest.  They do not regret the past or worry about the future. My son would be upset one moment and  having a good time playing video games the next.  Children live in the now and are happy with the simple things in life. I have watched my daughter in pure joy with her dolls or an empty box.  Take some time today to rediscover your inner child. Live  in the moment, learn from your past, but do not stress about the future.  Put your  I pod, smart phone, and laptop down.  Go for a walk in the park, relax on the beach, and enjoy the simple things in life.children playing

The Power of Setting Goals

building22010 could be your Best Year Ever but it’s all up to you.  Use the power of setting goals to give yourself more clarity, focus and to track your progress.  Start today! Begin to create the life you want and deserve. Read the information below about goals:

The key to succeeding at your goals is to make sure that they are S.M.A.R.T Goals. What are S.M.A.R.T Goals? I thought you’d never ask!

S.M.A.R.T Goals are…

Specific – A specific goal has a much greater chance of being accomplished than a general goal.

Measurable – Establish concrete criteria for measuring progress toward the attainment of each goal that you set.

Attainable – When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop the Attitudes, Abilities, Skills, and Financial Capacity to reach them.

Relevant – Make sure that your goal is relevant to the vision that you have For your life. If the goal that you are making does not align with your vision then what is the point?

Timely– A goal should be grounded within a time frame. With no time frame tied to it there’s no sense of urgency.
